Supportive Divorce Solutions is a financial consulting firm whose mission is to support, educate, and empower women through their divorce. They encourage their clients to build a team of professionals around them to provide the financial—and emotional—support they need.
Jillian Jones, MBA, CDFA®, the founder of Supportive Divorce Solutions, is passionate about advocating for women. That’s actually how I met her—as a fellow member of a women’s networking group. By the time we started working together, she had done little to brand the business and knew it was time to create an identity that would help grow her visibility within the community.
In her questionnaire, Jillian’s buzzwords were compassion, empathy, powerful, resilient, and fearless. When pulling images for her moodboard, I came across an image with a butterfly in it and something clicked. What better image to represent transformation through divorce? I started playing around with ideas that incorporated a butterfly image. The result was the silhouette of a woman with colorful butterfly wings surrounding her. This was the winning concept! Although it was originally in pink from the moodboard, it was changed to the teal color after Jillian requested a slightly less feminine color palette.
The final brand guide included complementary fonts choice and an expanded color palette. I also included the butterfly icon as a separate design element, which was used in her collateral items—a business card, a two-page advertising spread, and social media images.
Melanie is a passionate branding artist and business owner. She is patient, creative, very thoughtful and soooo responsive to needs and questions. I loved that she made everything easy to understand and use! I’m certainly excited to have Melanie as my brand manager now!
